Hailing from New York City, Indigø has been a poet her entire life but with a career path in political journalism & grassroots organizing, no one could’ve expected her turn to singer-songwriter. “After all these years of knowing what I loved about music, I finally realized that I had the talent to do it. I just needed a radical push & a little or a lot of confidence.” And so in the beginning of 2018 she changed her name, hopped on a plane to Miami and began writing the first words of her album, Sayonara which debuted in the early days of 2020. Growing up she enjoyed all genres of musical artists from the Smiths to Lauryn Hill to Blondie to Jay-Z. She lists her biggest musical & lyrical influences as Bob Dylan, Lily Allen, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey & most especially Amy Winehouse. After leaving a contract with a small distribution company, Indigø is now armed with creative freedom & all the excitement to continue creating her dream in song.
